Trailers.

Our trailers are 100% NZ made by companies that have considerable expertise on the construction of trailers specifically for use as a tiny home platform. Our trailers are rated for a 3.5 ton total weight and are supplied with a remote electronic breaking system. All our homes are built on split chassis trailers enabling the owner to seperate the wheels and draw bar once the home is sited.

Floor & Insulation.

We use 50-mm Expol sheets for under floor insulation before laying 19-mm H3.2 pressure treated ply flooring over the chassis. A membrane is placed between the floor and steel chassis to provide a thermal break.

Framing.

Steel is not only significantly lighter and stronger than timber, it also has almost zero waste when used to make housing frames. Our steel frames are provided by “Steel Framing Solutions”. Each design is professionally engineered for high wind zones and produced using New Zealand steel.

Interior.

Weight is the biggest consideration when selecting materials for a THOW. Our homes are lined with a special reduced weight plywood finished with a poplar face that can be clear coated or painted to your choice of colour. We also offer the option of other wood species veneers such as walnut and birch. Cabinetry including the kitchen are hand built at our site using imported Italian plywood, again with a reduced weight core to keep the overall weight as low as possible. No MDF or Particle board is used in the construction of our homes.

Windows & Doors.

Bringing the outdoors inside is a great way of extending a living space and this is so important with Tiny Homes. All our designs feature at least 1 set of large bi fold doors to add that feeling of open space living. All our aluminium joinery is NZ made double glazed and high wind zone rated. Sky light windows are also common place in our homes, these are custom made in New Zealand by Adlux.

Services.

100% left to the experts. True Tiny call on the services of trusted qualified electricians and gas fitters to take care of this part of the build, once they are done their work is independently certified. A gas water heater will be installed as standard and pre fitting for gas heating such as a Truma Vario is also included allowing such a unit to be retro fitted with ease. A generous number of power points are installed as standard as well as USB ports in convenient locations like next to the sleeping areas. Pre wiring for a heat pump is also standard meaning a unit can be fitted once the home is sited without the need to remove cladding or linings. In most cases our homes are supplied with integrated appliances such as ovens and dish draws. Electrics and plumbing for a front loader washing machine is also a standard feature.
